I enjoy coming here. Its a lovely place with a great small community /village atmosphere. It provides a safe and warm space for community groups as well as for walkers, hungry folk, or simply for those in need of a quiet, comfy space for coffee. There are many options on the menu, both food and drink wise. Reasonable prices and time to wait for food. Customer service is fantastic. The lady serving everyone couldn't have been more friendly or attentive. The place is lined with books to browse or buy. The Strand sits at the bottom of the old road, a fabulous walk which at the moment has snowdrops peeping out everywhere. Sunday dinner here is great, but book or come early to avoid disappointment. The strand offers delivery too. A hidden gem.

Amazing food (and cheap) and awesome service and what a lovely community!!! The ambient of the shop and old books were astonishing and maintained really well. Met the old headmaster Daniel there, he was a legend. Loved the area, glad I stumbled up on this hidden gem.

The first thing we noticed in this charming little restaurant was that all the walls were lined with books. We were t sure if they were open because nobody else was eating, but they happily seated us, took ur order and brought us tea. I had the liver and onions, my husband had steak and Guinness pie. Both were£10, generously portioned, hot, and tasty after a long day hiking. Very happy to have found this spot.
